"Someday I’ll Go To _______ (But First, Let Me Fold These Towels)"
Let’s talk about that trip.
You know the one. It’s been living rent-free in the back of your mind since dial-up internet. That place you’ve always wanted to visit—Greece, Bali, Paris, Sedona, maybe even Dollywood (no judgment here, some of you are very loyal to Dolly). Every time life gets loud or your job becomes “that ex you never broke up with,” you whisper to yourself:
“Someday. When things settle down. When the kids graduate. When work calms down. When my cholesterol does.”
And yet, here we are… still folding towels, still putting out fires, and still waiting for life to give us permission to dream again.
Well, spoiler alert: Life doesn’t give you permission. You have to take it.
Step 1: Name It, Claim It, Stop Parking It
First, let’s stop treating your dream trip like a dusty box in the attic you’ll deal with “after the holidays.” (Which holidays? No one knows. They just keep coming.)
Get honest. Where do you actually want to go? What destination lights you up before reality comes crashing in with its mortgage, meatloaf, and meetings?
Write it down. Circle it. Put it on a sticky note. Say it out loud. (Bonus points if you say it while holding a wine glass and looking dramatically out the window like you're in a movie montage.)
You’re allowed to want this.
Step 2: Make a Date—with Yourself and Wi-Fi
Now, here's where it gets fun—and free.
